i was wondering if anybody feels like i do that if i hadn't been raised a jw i would never have embraced the religion.
i know it's easier to say in hindsight after i know the truth about the org but honestly i don't think i would have given them the time of day.

That's a good point Es. Feeling hopeless in their life can lead people to put faith in things that offer a better prospect even if it's a false hope. Like you said though things would have to be really, really, really, really, really crap to consider the JW's. I think if my life was that bad I would have topped myself before the dubs knocked on my door though

that was a real good scam on collecting parking fees for a parking lot that came with the rented facility?????

They are purchased from the WTS. They give the different car parks numbers and you go to the one your ticket corresponds to. Apart from the tickets obviously being printed by the WTS the other clue they are the WTS invention is that Leeds Utd who own the ground only have one named car park, which is 'A'. The others are just general parking. For a soccer match Leeds Utd only charge to park in car park 'A' which is attached to the ground & the others are free. The WTS however charge to park in all car parks when it's an assembly.

I take the logical approach to things, not emotional. I've always believed if something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't.

I know in hindsight it's easier to say things and speculate on what might have happened. The way I look at it is some people are the sort that seek out God, meaning of life, spiritual things and are interested in learning about the bible. That isn't me and it never was.
When I was being considered as a MS it was even mentioned that some elders thought that I was too questioning of the org. They did offer me the privelege? of being a MS and I turned them down, haha.

I don't think many existing dubs know of the influence Ted Jaracz has in the GB. The personalities are played down now but the heirarchy still works in the same way. I've heard that in GB meetings where new articles, rules etc are decided it's the person with the loudest voice and the most forceful personality who gets their way. It's neither a democratic or spiritual process at all.
I remember my grandma used to bless all the members of the GB by name in her prayers like they were saints or something.

In the UK there has always been a charge for parking as far as I'm aware. The attendants won't let you in the car parks if you don't have a valid ticket purchased beforehand. Does anyone know if the UK has changed it's policy recently too?

I'm not very good at having faith & trust in things that are largely ephemeral, which is needed in religion in my view. I'm more of a scientific person and like good solid proof before I believe anything.
Do you think if you had been raised as a worldly ? person you would have been attracted to the JW's or any religion when you grew up?
do you believe in christianity, the bible, god-----or are you in the "i'm not sure what to think" class?
